The Pillar Animation Challenge !!! and more of these things -> !!!

I done some polishing and tweaking and some 2nd 3rd 4rd and 5th pass changes, and walla still needs a bit of tweaking i think though..  Any who this didnt really that long to do why if i didnt procrastinate between key frames i probably would have done it in a day or two.

Wolf Project Part 2 : 24/7/12

Well last week i helped on a short for Galway was a bit of a last minuet thing, kind of got me in the mood to some more animating, so i never really tried to do a animal quadruped before so, since i have nothing much going on at the moment i thought id give it a go

I have been a bit busy this week took a few days to get the software and stuff onto my new computer and all that jazz. So i haven't been working on this since the last entry pretty much but yesterday i was able to sit down and get into it again. The difference on the new computer is awesome i cant wait to start cleaning up my old animation from college this year on it no slow down from the high poly models. Anyway this video below is an old one i have done a bit more on it than this and cleaned it up some more. The turning around part was a major pain in the backside. But the current version of it im working on now is an improvement of this one below. So ehhh yea il probably have it nearly finished tomorrow, unless i make him run off scree.. which i probably will.

Ok been cleaning it up and stuff need to take some stiffness out of it in some parts still some clicky looking parts im trying to get rid of, And i forgot to move the animation of the hand down the time line so never mind that, also il probably do some thing more with that hand that was just some place holder animation i stuck in. This is a playblast of y new pc looks nice huh. Nearly done i think. Contemplating making him run away hmm hmmmm.

So i kind of lost interest in this for a day or two been getting a bit of cabin fever being stuck in the house watching these walls do they have eyes ? always watching.

Yes so today i blocked out the rest of the animation, its so close to being done. I just need to clean it up and thats it and do the tail which ive been leaving till last and il try hit some nice accents on the dogs personalty from some of the reference videos ive been looking up. So here's the rest which i done today.

Blocking

Today i proceeded with more blocking and setting in some hold's and just generally animating straight ahead its my preference i have never been huge into planning some thing out, Although it is a good way to work and i done it a lot this year, I find it more enjoyable just seeing where things take me. So this was saturdays work would say this is still an early blocking + pass.

Blocking + & Initial Splining,

So now that im fairly happy with most of my blocking ive moved to spline, Where i can see how my early block is looking, Then i start to add more hold's tweak and add pose's and refine every thing over and over untill my timing is pleasing to the eye and , so right now im basically adding more character tot he shot. This is where i tend to get carried away with the performances, Although i a have a tone of stuff to clean up on this at the moment.

Spline faze 

Just been doing some more refinements, i done most of this on the 15/7/12. this morning i spent some time trying to change the position where he barks at the hand, it was very stiff, im not entirely happy with it. i cant seem to get the curve in his back that i want, i spent some more time working his paw positions and holds.

Ive been trying to his paws to shift around fairly quick, like a dog would do as he is barking but it wasnt coming out the way i pictured it, i think il try it again once ive finsihed the rest of the scene, perhaps approaching it like eye darts would work. 

I havent done his tial yet, or a facial pass.

Just been tweaking it a bit today havent really been burning through this little project, Its going fairly slow but im putting that down to this being my first time trying a animal ! So yeah, Its not going to bad i wasn't to happy with the barking area and ive just been fiddling around with it trying to find some thing more appealing, not to happy with it, it seems off to me.
