Animation reworked and Render Time Test weeeeeee.......

Did a render test to see how long it would take, did it in around 40 minuets with mental ray and some setting changes for the 9-10 seconds the full sequence will be about around 50-60 seconds. Also reworked some of the animation i think i got it down better than the previous video, The only bit that seems of to me is near the end with the kind of sway i tried to do with his spine controller's is a bit stiff. But i think this is enough for the deadline.

Some refining & Rendered Stills

Just been working on the animation for an hour or two trying to remove some stiffness, I would appreciate some feedback. Just for the context of the shot, in the story board he walks into the room the door kind makes a slow creeky sound the door slams he reacts then hears another sound from above and this where things are meant to start plumiting down and he starts trying to get away from them.  Ow and the door etc are place holder's.

And i thought i would take fancy render's i think i try and render this in mental ray, but il need to tweak the setting a bit to get a faster render time.

Animation W.I.P

Just thought i would put this up, Might work on some overlapping, but id dont think il do anymore on it, Since i only needed 5 seconds, but I might try another shot with a different model as im not really liking the low max model from the waist down. Anyway i was working on that last night deleted some of it from my previous tests as i felt the breathing part was not needed. Also around the 4 second mark i am going to do some thing about that jaw movement i dont like it.

Right this is me procrastinating because i have to write 1500 words for my thesis and i dont have a god dam f***ing clue how do it so il do this instead.

This is a Mishy Mashy of my two blog entries on the college blog which seriously sucks fucking balls, and looks like some kind retarded note book and apparently doesn not like when you make paragraph's and squish's everything together. So anyway moving on.. end rant.

I decided to the serial killer thing after the original pitch which kind sucks because is spent a fucking grand on the cintiq but its not that a big of a deal because il make some short shorts with it in my spare time and when i finish college im sure come in handy doing free lance work.

So now i am doing a 3d animation showcase, Which will involve one action sequence and one character animation dialogue based sequence. Im not to bothered that i am not making a film this year since i already made the film wanted to make and im kind of relieved about it and il finally get the chance to sit and try up my game with some 3d animation which is some thing i wanted to get into since i start college.

Going about this i thought that i should do things the correct way and for Maya animation means using the Graph Editor, When i started looking at it i was more confused than a Panda being in world of Warcraft (WTF). Now after toying around with it for for a few days and studying from a book  YAY books, I have a much clearer understanding of how it works and what it is used for.

So here was one of the quick walk cycle's i started using the graph editor to do the in-between's it didn't turn out very well but it was just trying to get an understanding of the scary graph editor.

Yes embrace the Skynet, I did a few more things like a jump which i got really nice maya froze and i hadnt saved so i lost the really nice part and only had the rough animation left ow dear.

 Anyway So then i just thought i would get started on this 5 seconds of animation we have to have to show. So here are some animation test's.

im still working on it, and building it up and  using the graph editor to TRY and get some better animation but i am getting the hang of it now just need to work on holding some of the poses a bit more and refine some parts of the animation.

WHAT I PLAN TO MAKE IN CAPS OHH OOO

So not only is it coming up to my birthday i am back in college soon then i shall hit the pre 30's age number which i wont mention because it will make me cry thinking of the years i wasted WHICH I CANT REMEMBERRRRRRrrr sigh anyway old memory blank issues aside it is time for me get the whip out i am pumped and i am ready to rock this shit and make a fucken film and it better not turn out like that pile of shite i made called pork or i will throw myself in front of the motha fuckan dart well i wont really but it i will not be a happy animator.

So as i mentioned in my previous post i was considering trying to "re imagine" an old comic i made about 4 years ago now for a short animated film and thats what i started to do since my last post. I currently have over a screen  play written for it, It now it has more to it than some random fuck wit with a kitchen knife who likes to murder women. I  decided to go down the body image route in the story line and hopefully i can get those aspects of the character to be some kind of fore shadowing to the mental murdering charming bastard that he is.

I talk a little about what i am making here on youtube, i dont know i put on some weird voice when i make these videos whats that all about.

So what have i done so far well apart from what i just said i have also story boarded the first Act of the film, Just started the second act today, which is going to take longer because the entire is a huge dialogue sequence type of thing set in a restaurant well an american diner type of look is what im going for.  So im really compose the shots so its going to be interesting to watch and im really going to have put out some good acting in this animation  i got a great book by Marcos Mateu-Mestre he is a really talented animation layout out artist story boarder and graphic comic artist, and the book is all about the context of character in a scene and how best to set up lighting and location etc. So its helping me get a better idea of how i want to direct this film.

So now im going stick a load of some drawings ive been doing trying to get use to my new cintiq 12wx oh yea i bought it fuck yeahhhh its awesome. The first couple of these i was doodling in paint and Photoshop trying to find what software i would use to animate in, i tried pscs4, painter 12, manga studio, Tv paint.

After messing around with them all i decided tv paint worked best and so thats my plan now to do this in tv paint. I had messed around with tvpaint last year and had some frustrations with it but hopefully that wont happen this year ....... ..

My August update !! and its the worst up date to date (is that a pun?)

So havent done anything really this month went on holidays first time ever!! yea first time im 28 and just had my first holiday time to throw away the poor kid rag's i guess went to london had a blast went to up the creek comedy club met some cool funny people hung out with my sister and austrailian cousin who moved to london went all over the place got accosted by bouncers over suspicion of drug abuse in the toilets but nay mr bouncer i was having a panic attack and not doing lines of coke thank you for your concern.

So i havent done a fucking thing work wise since my last update i think i burned myself out ive done a few drawings got a commission of some one who saw some of my work that was nice never been paid to do a drawing before but i cant show it because they got all the stuff i did on it, i can say it was kinda fucking pornographic. niceeee.

At this stage i am now considering what to do for my degree year film i am really just thinking of scraping my sci fi idea i just think its to weak and i dont want my final year trying to learn fucking 3d i enjoy it  i mean like look at all i did over the summer it was great and i was happy with what i was doing but i hate rigging and all the technical side of it, to much holding me back and i dont want my final year film to be on par with some one who is starting out in 3d.

I regret wasting so much time now trying to do that 3d short, but fuck it. At lest i gave it a shot.

I am considering buying this in the image below Cintiq 12WX i am gawping at the purchase screen right now trying not to shit in my pants at the thought of spending 999 euro on this awesome piece  of tech to do a 2d animation on my computer and not on paper like im use to it would be good by light box !

What i am thinking about now is what do i want to do for my film !!! 

I made a comic once called Mr Darcy it was about a serial killer who just snapped from his wife nagging and then ended up killing women and fat chic's it was a robert crumb inspired look its probably the only thing i did from feeling inspired by another persons style. Also it was a nice way to get out all those frustrations from the rejection of women over the years yeaahh i killed them on paper call the cops people.

Id like to tightin up the drawing for it i done this comic when i was in my portpholio year so i wasnt as skilled with the pencil back then i did try to animate it in my first year of college but felt a bit over whelmed and change to some thing simpler. Its always been some thing ive wanted to animate and people often ask me to do another comic on it so maybe this is some thing i will give some thought to.Of course if am to do this im going to need to write a good script and find some voice actors. 

I have had a few ideas for a for some animated series, I am also considering doing that short film i started in 3d in 2d as a mini series. I d love to remake my film Tissue Pockets 

And the second short i made Enol ive always wanted to do another cartoon with this little guy
but i dont think i want to do it for my final degree film.

There a few ideas i have written down but my problem is the film that i wanted to make was tissue pockets and now that i made im struggling to find some thing that i want to make as much as i did with tissue pockets.

Well i dont know what to say but basically i have given up working on the "little" project with the kid that turned into a way bigger work load than i expected this was mostly down to the un responsiveness and fps drops when using the latest version of maya which basicly stopped me doing any work after i modelled the boy which lets face it had fairly questionable facial topology going on but it was fun to make, Yea so it all came to a head when i started the rigging process which i was new to.

To sum it up maya kept crapping out on me and i then banished it from my laptop in a fit of rage. rage like no man has ever seen, well i wasnt really raged up i just unistalled it said fuck this shite im meant to be on my summer holidays.

Anyway ive no new stuff for that short now its now on the back burner. I need to start finding books for my thesis proposal and then start pre pro for my degree film, which i am as of now 100% clueless as to weather i am going to be doing in 3d or 2d.

So me being me i am always messing around and trying out new interesting stuff and here are some of the things ive been doing these past few weeks since my last update.

Cinema4d
currently my new addiction i read about this program and thought i would check it it seems more of a vis com app than an animators but i have been playing around with it and really enjoying its ease of use, here are a few things i have been doing in cinema4d

I listed those in the order from the first thing i did with cinema 4d to the last, the final one is a simple 3d model i threw together the point of it was that its a self driving no animation required car use's a physics engine to drive it selfs sorta, made space i was bored started to try make some planets and stuff and the others i just made to see what i could do in c4d,

Anyway thats all ive been doing really few little things think il take some time to find me a women !  BOOBS
